Building a Program
While many employers recognize that implementing an effective Health & Wellness program is important, they often don't have the resources or time to do so. We believe in taking the lead in designing and structuring the programs for our clients and guiding them on the best way to ensure its success.
Building a impactful program does not happen over night. It can often take several years for the positive impact to be felt. Because of this, we believe developing a 5-year plan is often the best place to start.
Year 1- Establish a baseline. This can be done with the Health Risk Assessment. It is impossible to target the areas that will have the greatest impact without first knowing what those risks are. Provide incentive to participate and you will get a good idea of the health risks that are most effecting your employees.
Year 2- Give incentive for covered employees to get age-appropriate health screenings (ie routing physicals, OBGYN visits, colonoscopies, etc.) and biometric screenings.
Year 3- Establish a smoking cessation program with incentive to be a non-tobacco user. Also in year 2, include covered spouses on the HRA.
Year 4- Begin results based incentives for employees. Instead of simply giving incentives for participating, you now require a baseline of health in order to give incentive.
Year 5- Include spouses in results based incentives and smoking cessation programs.
